Kid Logic

If you’re trying to find a solution to a problem, particularly a creativity or product development one, look no further than the nearest munchkin… providing they can talk and think a bit. Between the ages of 4 and about 10 will give you the most honest answers. After that, they start to think too much like adults and become more reserved.

You could ask them directly to fix the problem for you, but you’ll probably get a better response by asking them to tell a story about it, play a game, build or create an artwork with it, or ask questions about the problem, which naturally you have to answer (be prepared for a string of “why”).

One thing that will be certain – if there are any flaws in your logic, they are sure to come out. And even better, you might find a new use, a better solution or perhaps, better questions.

Hopefully, after all this, you will be able to see the problem in a whole new light… that of the honest innocence of a child.
